Bad News: MBB Loses Two More Bigs

Following the loss of double-double machine Aubrey Williams who exhausted his eligiblity, the Owls are now going to be losing (my) projected 2017-18 starters, Zach Cameron and Johannes Nielsen.
Cameron has decided to transfer after a relatively successful true freshman year with the Owls. Any mid-major D1 school would be wise to take the 6’10” center and develop him further.
The 6’9″ Dane, Johannes Nielsen, was the most game-ready of KSU’s 6 freshmen this past season. He showed a killer mid-range game and was surprisingly athletic for his size. I’m hearing from multiple people that he wants to return to Denmark and become a doctor.
The loss of these players has to be a huge blow for KSU’s future plans. The Owls now have between 3-5 open scholarships, depending on how a few things turn out, and signing day is in under two weeks. There’s a good chance that whichever bigs KSU brings in at the last minute, will play major minutes this season.
Our current three bigs are Jordan Jones, Kosta Jankovic and Isaac Mbuyamba. In my opinion, if we can’t get players we REALLY want and REALLY believe in this offseason, we need to load up on transfers and play for the 2018-19 season.
