Nearly 90 Percent of Big South Football Games to be Broadcast in 2017
FOUR FOOTBALL GAMES ADDED TO BIG SOUTH TELEVISION SCHEDULE AS PART OF NEW ARRANGEMENT WITH 7COMM/PRINCETON MEDIA GROUP
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today that four football games have been added to its television schedule for the 2017 season as part of an arrangement with “College Football Down South” — a new regional network of broadcast TV stations operated by Raleigh-based production company 7Communications and Princeton Media Group.
“College Football Down South” will originate production and televise games the final four weeks of the season, starting with the Oct. 28 Kennesaw State at Presbyterian contest live at 2:30pm (changed from 2:00pm). On Nov. 4, Charleston Southern at Gardner-Webb will be televised live at 1:30pm, followed by the Nov. 11 Presbyterian at Liberty matchup live at 3:30pm. “College Football Down South” will also be included in the league’s Wildcard selections for the three regular-season finales on Saturday, Nov. 18 — either Liberty at Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb at Presbyterian or Monmouth at Kennesaw State. Wildcard selections will be determined 14-21 days in advance.
Distribution of the “College Football Down South” telecasts will include broadcast stations throughout the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia. Actual affiliate coverage will be made available during game week.
The four “College Football Down South” productions are among 45 total telecasts spanning every week of the 2017 season — nearly 90 percent of the entire schedule. The updated Big South television slate appears below, and includes all games planned for broadcast on the Big South Network (BSN), the league’s ESPN3/Stadium package, Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN), and various other outlets. All broadcasts are subject to change.
