Student Football Ticket Lottery Is No More

Students will no longer use the lottery system to obtain tickets

KENNESAW, Ga. — The Kennesaw State Department of Athletics has announced changes to its student-ticketing protocol for home football games, highlighted by the removal of the lottery system for 2017.

In an effort to make it easier for students to obtain home football games tickets, the lottery component has been removed. Students will now claim tickets using their student-ticket accounts at ksuowls.com/tickets starting the Monday of game week. Student tickets will remain available until supplies are exhausted.

The Department of Athletics spearheaded a number of meetings over the last few months involving students, members of the KSU community, and the Student Government Association (SGA). The feedback was clear. Among students’ most significant concerns was the uncertainty of getting a ticket through the lottery.

At its meeting on April 12, the SGA unanimously voted to eliminate the lottery.

Since the elimination, a Town Hall meeting was conducted on campus by the Department of Athletics to address and brainstorm student attendance issues.

The Department of Athletics will continue to refine the student-ticketing process, with more details to follow later this summer.

The Owls open their season Aug. 31 at Samford, with the first home game at Fifth Third Bank Stadium set for Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. versus Tennessee Tech
